Tatton Estate, along with HOW Planning, has put plans forward for a first-class residential property development close to Knutsford’s main industrial estate.
The proposals were put together after a decision was made in 2009 by the borough’s council to allow industrial development. However, the plans have undergone changes to fall in line with housing needs in the area, taking into account infrastructure and traffic improvements.
Building firms won’t be sorry to hear the news as it is expected to lead to an increase in demand for loft conversions and kitchen renovations in Chester.
The plans cater for around 250 new properties and incorporate woodland buffer zones and open spaces.
HOW Planning partner Jon Suckley said that it is the long-term vision of its client to see a sustainable and high-quality development providing a legacy, not just for the Estate, but for the community at such an important north Cheshire site.
Tatton Estate said:
“After a very comprehensive exercise of consultation and public engagement, we have made significant amendments not only to the 2008/9 industrial development, but from the initial proposals for residential and office use. We are confident that would be the most appropriate development, in the right place, done well.”
CBRE Residential Director Steven Verity said that the initiative provides the chance for Cheshire East and the Estate to form an exemplar residential programme in well-run and attractive grounds, resulting in a wonderful addition to the Knutsford residential market, as well as for the county of Cheshire in general.
